Peony suffruticosa

Timeless and elegant! Few plants can compare to the glamour of a Tree Peony. Large, heavily-petalled blooms are borne in late spring, creating a spectacular focal point with a delightful perfume. Their upright woody stems are cloaked with finely cut foliage throughout summer, forming a dense mound. Unlike herbaceous cultivars, Tree Peonies form a framework of woody stems that remain above ground in winter, getting bigger and better with each passing year. These long-lived, deciduous shrubs thrive in sun or light shade, making a superb addition to garden borders. Height and spread: 150cm (5″).
