Verbena hybrida Compacta ‘Quartz XP Bordeaux’ delivers rich, velvety flower clusters in deep wine-red and burgundy shades. The dramatic colouring creates a sophisticated look in patio containers and borders, while the plant’s compact growth and prolific flowering habit ensure months of garden interest. Its dark blooms can provide excellent contrast against lighter companion plants from spring through summer and early autumn months.
Perfect for attracting butterflies and other pollinators, this romantic Verbena prefers a very sunny position in moisture-retentive, well-drained soil. Deadhead faded flower clusters regularly to encourage fresh blooms and prevent plants from becoming leggy. A fortnightly liquid feed throughout summer will promote stronger flowering, while occasional trimming of straggly stems helps maintain a neat, compact shape. Water regularly during hot, dry spells, particularly when grown in containers and hanging baskets. Combine with white, red, or pink verbenas, or with pale pink bedding plants to create a bright, cheery summer arrangement.
