For optimal growth, plant in full sunlight and well-drained soil. It works wonderfully for mass plantings, seasonal pots, or when paired with deep purples and whites to provide contrast. Plant the bulbs in the autumn at a depth of 10–15cm and spacing them 10cm apart. After flowering, deadhead them and allow the foliage to die back naturally. If grown in heavy or poorly draining soil, lift the bulbs in summer. Tulipa ‘Queensday’ is an eye-catching, festive option for vibrant spring borders.
