Tomato Plant ‘Sharpei’

Tomato ‘Sharpei’ is a tall, mid-early variety that grows with vigour and a long season of fruiting. This tomato plant reaches up to 2 metres and produces striking pink, pear-shaped fruits with deep ribbing. Each 150–170g tomato is dense, juicy, and sweet, with just a slight hollowness, perfect for rich homemade tomato paste. Fruits reliably until the first frosts, making it a long-lasting garden favourite.
Named for its resemblance to the wrinkled folds of a Shar Pei dog, this unusual variety is a real conversation piece in the garden as well as on the plate. Provide full sun, sturdy support, and regular feeding to sustain strong growth; pinch out side shoots to maintain a cordon and improve fruit size, while consistent watering and light pruning will help encourage a steady yield of these bold, uniquely shaped tomatoes.
