Standard Cotinus Royal Purple – Smoke Bush Tree

 
The beautiful Royal Purple Smoke Bush as a Patio Standard tree! Perfect to parade and keep shaped as a centre piece to any planter or even in the garden border, this tree comes with an approx 70cms clear stem, topped off with branches and foliage that will fill out year on year, simply give excessive growth an occasional trim to maintain and develop a rounded head of foliage of magnificent, dark red-purple leaves. In Autumn, these will turn vivid scarlet-red, but prior to this in summer, fluffy, smoke-like plumes of purplish-pink flowers are produced, hence the name Purple Smoke Tree!
This purple-leaved smoke tree will make an eye-catching specimen plant for a sunny shrub or mixed border, or when used in a roomy planter. The clear stem means it can be underplanted with other contrasting plants to provide a foil for the sumptuous purple foliage. Perhaps some silver foliage such as Calocephalus would suit?
Supplied as established young tress in approx 3 litre containers at around a metre tall total height.
