Sorbus ‘Matthew Ridley’ is a beautiful and unusual rowan tree, prized for its striking clusters of pale pink to soft orange berries that appear in late summer and persist into autumn, attracting birds and adding seasonal charm. In spring, it produces creamy-white flower heads, followed by elegant, deeply divided green foliage that turns brilliant shades of red and purple in autumn.
With its upright, compact shape, Matthew Ridley is ideal for small to medium gardens, offering year-round interest with minimal upkeep. Plant in well-drained, fertile soil in full sun or partial shade. It’s hardy and easy to grow, needing only light pruning in winter to maintain its shape.
