Solidago sphacelata ‘Golden Fleece’ differs from other goldenrod varieties in that it forms a neat, compact mound, making it ideal for the front of borders and smaller garden spaces. Its arching, golden-yellow plumes add warmth, texture and movement to cottage gardens and naturalistic planting schemes.
This hardy perennial thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, making it ideal for prairie-style planting, wildlife gardens and sunny borders. Drought-tolerant once established, it requires minimal care beyond occasional trimming after flowering. For a striking seasonal display, plant alongside asters, rudbeckia or ornamental grasses, where it will provide a brilliant burst of colour.
