Sedum kamtschaticum is a versatile, low-growing perennial succulent prized for its bright green, scalloped foliage and clusters of golden-yellow star-shaped flowers that appear from midsummer into early autumn. Forming attractive spreading mats, this hardy stonecrop provides excellent ground cover and seasonal colour, while its nectar-rich blooms are highly attractive to bees and other pollinators. In autumn, the foliage often develops attractive bronze and reddish tones, extending its ornamental appeal.
Ideal for rockeries, gravel gardens, green roofs, alpine beds, wall crevices and the front of sunny borders, Sedum kamtschaticum creates a neat, natural carpet that helps suppress weeds. It combines beautifully with sempervivums, delosperma and other drought-tolerant perennials. Extremely easy to maintain, it thrives in poor to moderately fertile, well-drained soils and requires little watering once established. Avoid waterlogged conditions, particularly during winter. Plant in full sun for the best flowering display and compact growth, trimming back any untidy stems in spring to keep plants looking fresh and healthy.
Supplied in approx 9cm pots.
