Sambucus Serenade

Sambucus ‘Serenade’ is an elegant, compact elder with finely cut foliage that emerges rich bronze-purple before softening to deep green tones, creating a refined effect. In late spring to early summer, it produces delicate, creamy-white flower heads, adding lightness and contrast while attracting pollinators and lending a subtle, ornamental charm to the plant.
This ornamental elder thrives in sun or light shade and prefers moist, well-drained soil, making it a versatile choice for borders, mixed shrub plantings, or as a feature in smaller gardens. It combines beautifully with plants that echo or contrast its foliage, such as Physocarpus ‘Diabolo’, shrubs like Cornus alba ‘Sibirica’, or Rudbeckia fulgida ‘Goldsturm’.
