Rhododendron Catawbiense Grandiflorum ‘Boursault’

The strong and eye-catching Rhododendron ‘Catawbiense Grandiflorum’ is well-known for its enormous, beautiful purple flowers, which bloom copiously in late spring to early summer. When in bloom, this shrub’s spherical, rich blossoms serve as a striking feature in any garden. This rhododendron has leathery, dark green leaves that provide for a lush, evergreen backdrop all year long. It can grow up to two metres in height and spread.
 
‘Catawbiense Grandiflorum’ is a great choice for planting in borders, woodland gardens, or as a stand-alone specimen. It does best in partial shade, but if kept wet, it may withstand full sun in colder climes. It does best in acidic, well-drained soil and gains from a mulch layer to keep the roots cool and damp.
