Prunus Lusitanica ‘Variegata’ – Portuguese Laurel

‘Variegata’ is the variegated form of the traditional and popular Portuguese Laurel, with its striking leaves displaying creamy white margins that contrast against the light green middle. Its new branches are a lovely burgundy red colour which brings out the leaf vibrancy even more. As an evergreen it will give your garden wonderful year-round interest and is also ideal for use as a hedging plant. ‘Variegata’ also has small, fragrant white flowers that bloom in early summer.
 
A hardy shrub this Portuguese Laurel can thrive in exposed areas as well as sheltered areas and is able to establish in any soil type or pH. It prefers moist but well-drained soil and grows best in full sun or partial shade.
