The plant itself carries beautiful, deep red buds and pendant flowers – a real highlight in often the worst weather months of the year. The foliage has an attractive, bronzy tint to new growth, and forms a compact mounding habit. Pieris such as this can be considered as an excellent foundation planting in a new scheme or simply just in groups around the garden. It can even be grown in patio planters, and does best in partial shade.
