Olearia Dartonii
£12.99
Olearia dartonii is a distinctive evergreen shrub valued for its soft, silvery-grey foliage and twiggy texture, which gives the plant a light, airy appearance throughout the year. The narrow leaves and pale stems create a subtle, shimmering effect, while small, daisy-like white flowers may appear in summer, adding gentle detail without overpowering the foliage. Its open form brings movement and softness to planting schemes, particularly in coastal or contemporary gardens.
This hardy shrub thrives in a sunny position with well-drained soil and is especially well-suited to gravel beds and mixed borders where its silvery tones can contrast with deeper greens or bold colours. It combines beautifully with plants such as Hebe ‘Emerald Globe’, Spiraea nipponica ‘Snowmound’ and Camassia leichtlinii. To keep Olearia dartonii looking neat and compact, prune lightly in spring or after flowering, removing straggly growth while avoiding hard cuts into old wood to maintain its natural shape.
Supplied in approx. 2-3 litre containers.
