If you’ve purchased one of our XXXL Hydrangeas before and were impressed, wait until you get one of these!
Even larger than our 10 litre XXXL Hydrangea specimens, Bella Blue is a godzilla of a specimen – a more mature plant in a huge 20 litre container! If you can find such plants in garden centres, expect to pay around the £80 mark! Luckily, we’re far more reasonable.
These Bella Blue plants really are monsters and can be expected to throw out up to 30 strong flower heads during their first flowering season in your garden. A marvellous Hydrangea variety with huge heads of bloom, it is often found in high-end florist bouquets, ‘Bella Blue’ has truly massive flowers.Already several years old, you’re guaranteed that they will throw up masses of strong flower stems with gigantic blooms each summer. Our plants are very strong and ready to grow away with vigour. Just keep them well fed and watered in your garden for the very best displays of blooms.
Hydrangea macrophylla ‘Bella Blue’ will put on good amounts of healthy growth each year and quickly establish, producing massive, intensely blue flower clusters even when planted in a dull, shady spot. You can also use them as cut or dried flowers. This large-flowered mop head variety has huge blooms, up to the size of a football when fully established, and these literally cover the plant all summer.
Our special Hydrangeas are guaranteed chunky, healthy plants that will flower well when planted in a partially shaded spot in moist, but well-drained soil. For the strongest blue colouring all summer into early autumn, grow in acidic soil and use our first-class fertiliser when appropriate. Water generously through dry spells and mulch in spring to conserve moisture.
Use in beds and borders or patio planters. Like all our hardy plants, this is covered by our 5-year guarantee.
Supplied in approx. 20 litre containers.
