Laurel Hedging – Prunus Laurocerasus Etna Hedging Laurels – Circa 80-100cms

Etna is a superior form for the well-known laurel, with a denser, more compact, easy-care growth habit, bronze-tipped new growth and slightly darker green foliage than traditional laurel varieties. A dense, bushy, evergreen shrub with large, glossy, dark green leaves, it makes an excellent screening and hedging plant, and can cope with deep shade under trees as well as full sun. 
Position: full sun, partial shade or shade Soil: moist but well-drained soil, except shallow chalk
Rate of growth: fast-growing

Hardiness: fully hardy
Garden care: When planting, incorporate lots of well-rotted garden compost in the planting hole.
Prune in either spring or summer.
Mature plants can tolerate hard pruning in spring, cutting back to the old wood.
Eventual height: 3-4m Eventual spread: 1.5-2m
Plants are easily maintained at a smaller height and spread by annual trimming.
