Laburnum Anagyroides Yellow Rocket – Upright Golden Chain Tree

Yellow Rocket is a fantastic form of the popular spring flowering Laburnum, unlike other varieties, this has a columnar growing habit, forming a narrow upright tree, so it is perfect for any size of garden.
The bright sunny yellow pendant flowers adorn the tree in May and create a beautifully bright effect, perfect for attracting bees and butterflies to the garden. The deciduous foliage is green and pinnate, creating a pleasing backdrop for the yellow flowers. Perfect for adding vertical interest to the garden, or you can even train the stems onto a pergola or archway to create an eye-catching covered walkway.
Recently introduced, Yellow Rocket was crowned Best in Show at the New Plant Awards in 2018. Pruning is not needed in the case of this slow growing variety, but if you wish to maintain a size or shape you can prune unwanted branches in the middle of winter or early in the spring. A very easy to grow tree in that does best in a bright sunny spot in any well-drained soil. Expect a height of around 4m after ten years if left unpruned.
