Kniphofia Caulescens – Red Hot Poker

‘Red-hot poker’ earns its name with its beautiful, unique blooms; in the summer it produces spikes of flowers that begin as deep red and mature into lemon yellow, creating the effect of an ombre from red into yellow. The leaves are strap shaped, creating a grass-like effect surrounding the flowers. As it is evergreen, this foliage will remain year-round. This is a great plant to add some dimension to your garden as it can be placed amongst plants of varying sizes.
This plant enjoys loamy and sandy soil that is well-drained and kept moist. Plant in a sunny position for the best growth and flower displays.
