Hypericum ‘Hidcote’

Commonly known as St John’s wort, Hypericum ‘Hidcote’ is an incredibly popular bushy shrub, loved for its masses of golden yellow flowers and dense foliage. Its cup shaped golden flowers bloom in clusters of up to six and completely cover this shrub from July through to October. An evergreen or semi-evergreen plant this Hypericum will also give you bushy green foliage all year round, providing winter temperatures don’t drop too low! This shrub is a great addition to a mixed border providing summer and autumn colour as well as continuous contrasting foliage. Its growth habit is versatile meaning it can also be used as ground cover if trained properly. 
This shrub grows best in moist, but well-drained soil and needs to be sheltered from the coldest weather. It prefers full sun or partial shade and will not be thankful if placed in too shaded of an area. St John’s wort is tolerant of any soil type and pH so will thrive in almost any garden!
