Hibiscus syriacus ‘William R. Smith’ is a graceful, deciduous shrub cherished for its showy, pure white, trumpet-shaped flowers with a faint creamy centre. Blooming from late summer into early autumn, these large, hibiscus flowers create a stunning tropical effect in borders or on its own as a specimen plant. Its dark green, lobed leaves provide a lush backdrop, staying attractive throughout the growing season. Easy to grow and tolerant of a range of soils, ‘William R. Smith’ thrives best in well-drained soil and in a sunny, sheltered position. Once established, it’s drought-tolerant and requires minimal maintenance, just prune lightly in early spring to shape and encourage bushier growth.
