The largest flowering Spencer-type sweet pea cultivar, yielding huge, colourful blossoms. Ideal for trellis-trained against a patio wall or for vertical garden displays behind borders. In the summer, bring the delicate fragrances of this lovely species indoors as cut flowers.
From January to April, sow seeds indoors. In May, when the earth is warmer and there is less chance of frost, move them outdoors. Hardy annuals, sweet peas can also be planted immediately outside in warm, weed-free soil where they will bloom starting in the early summer. In a warm climate (up to 20°C), sow seeds about 3 cm apart and 1 cm deep; germination may take up to 3 weeks. Alternatively sow indoors from September to October for flowers early the next year.
