An exciting new hardy Geranium phaeum that unusually, sports dainty, double flowers. Mounds of deeply lobed foliage give rise to tall stems bearing loose clusters of small, double flowers. The May/June flowers come in a smoky purple with contrasting tufts of lime green in the centre.Geranium phaeum ‘Joseph Green’ is an invaluable plant for shady borders, perfect for winding through other spring/early summer shade-loving perennials such as Dicentra, Astrantia and Aquilegia. Tall, loose stems give it a naturalistic look that complements cottage-style landscapes and its deeply-lobed foliage provides attractive, weed-suppressing groundcover all season.
