Elaeagnus ‘Quicksilver’

If you are looking for unique foliage and beautiful scent this deciduous shrub is the plant for you. ‘Quicksilver’ gets its name from its amazing colour with silvery shoots displaying silvery-green scaly, ovate leaves which are soft to the touch and held in alternate pairs all the way along each branch. This makes for a stunning show of elegant colour especially when sunlight is shining upon the leaves. Sweetly fragrant yellow flowers bloom in summer from silver buds and when the shrub is established they will give you a lovely pop of bright colour. This plant’s ultimate height and spread ranges from 2.5-4 metres. We recommend planting this shrub at the back of a mixed border to provide a screen of colour but it also works well within an informal hedge or as a specimen plant.  
 
‘Quicksilver’ grows best when placed in full sun, but will tolerate partial shade and prefers moist or well-drained soil. It is a hardy shrub so will thrive in exposed or sheltered gardens.
