With its huge, blazing red blooms rimmed in golden yellow, the dahlia known as “Manhattan Island” is a stunning dinner-plate dahlia that demands attention. These stunning blooms, which may grow up to 20cm across, are a focal point for borders, beds, or sizable patio planters. This type adds warmth and drama to summer and autumn displays with its vivid colour contrast and rich green foliage. Its striking blossoms are ideal for floral arrangements and also produce wonderful, long-lasting cut flowers.
 
For optimal results, plant “Manhattan Island” in a sunny, protected spot with rich, well-drained soil. Routine deadheading can promote a continuous bloom show from midsummer until the first frosts.
