An improved version of the well known and loved Bishop of Llandaff Dahlia with velvety, ruby-red blooms that stand out beautifully against deep bronze to near-black foliage, making Dahlia ‘Black Forst Ruby’ a striking addition to any garden display. The glossy foliage alone looks gorgeous with an almost lacey effect. 
Flowering through summer right to the first frosts of winter, its open-centred flowers reveal golden stamens which starkly contrast both the petals and foliage whilst attracting pollinators. Free-flowering and easy to grow, it benefits from regular deadheading and consistent watering to encourage continuous blooms throughout the season.
Perfect for contemporary, cottage or wildlife-friendly gardens, it pairs beautifully with salvia varieties for a vibrant, textured display. Plant in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil, stake if needed, and lift tubers in colder areas over winter.
