Cosmos plants are popular annuals or perennials, originating from Mexico and Central America. They are perfect for bringing a graceful and compact presence to borders and containers alike. Cosmos Bipinnatus ‘Dwarf Purple Picotee’, a charming member of our collection, produces crisp white blooms delicately edged with rich purple-pink tones and golden centres above neat feathery foliage. Its compact habit makes it especially suitable for smaller gardens and edging. Growing to over 1m tall, they are excellent for cut flowers.
Thriving in moist, well-drained soil in a very sunny, sheltered position, Cosmos perform best with regular deadheading to encourage continuous flowering. Water during prolonged dry spells and avoid overly rich soil to maintain sturdy growth. Pair with salvias or silver foliage plants for an amazing summer display. Ideal for borders, cutting gardens and patio containers.
