Cornus alba ‘Gouchaultii’ is a stunning shrub with lots of interesting features. Firstly, the leaves are variegated with soft green middles and creamy yellow edges flushed with pink. Not only are the leaves unique, but the branches are as well with their bright red colour. This colour is especially appreciated in the winter when the leaves fall, and the red stems are left to add some colour to your winter garden. It doesn’t stop there: spring will treat you to small clusters of yellow-white flowers which are followed by blue-tinged berries in the autumn. This plant is quite compact making it the perfect addition to a smaller garden or a shrub border.
Grow this plant in any moist, well-drained soil but avoid chalk soils. It will enjoy full sun or partial shade.
