Column stocks are traditional cut flower varieties perfect for growing en masse, with each plant bearing a single, densely packed flower spike on a tall stem that is perfect for the vase. Perfect in pastels, column stock ‘Apricot’ is an exquisitely elegant variety boasting large, pale peach blooms with a divine clove-like fragrance. Sow these easy hardy annuals successionally for continuous flowering from late spring throughout summer. Height: 75cm (30in). Spread: 25cm (10in).Culinary note: Stock flowers are edible and are usually added raw to salads or used as a garnish to desserts, giving a perfumed flavour. They can also be candied.
