Clematis Polish Spirit

A further great example of a hard working climbing Clematis. This deciduous climber produces fantastic star shaped deep purple flowers with green centres that can get up to 10 CM in diameter, they first appear in mid- summer through to the autumn.
Its mid-green trifoliate leaves perfectly enhance the flower colour, and this plant will also provide autumn colour at the first frosts. To keep this plant healthy and happy plant the roots slightly deeper than the surrounding soil, mulch at planting and then again each following spring. Prune back flowering shoots to encourage new blooms and prune any dead shoots.
“Polish spirit’ tolerates a wide range of conditions but not water-logged soil, it is a big scrambling climber reaching up to four metres in height and would make a perfect plant for the front of a house, back of a border, cloaking a fence or wall. There is a bonus that it will grow in containers so is a perfect climber to weave between balcony railings.
