Centaurea montana ‘Amethyst in Snow’ is a beautiful perennial valued for its distinctive, bi-coloured flowers, combining deep violet-purple centres with elegantly frilled white outer petals. Flowering from late spring into early summer, the blooms are held above clumps of softly felted, grey-green foliage, bringing a refined yet slightly wild character to borders and naturalistic planting schemes.
Best grown in a sunny position with well-drained soil, this hardy perennial is well suited to cottage gardens, pollinator-friendly borders, and wildflower meadow-style plantings, where it provides both colour and texture early in the season. It works particularly well alongside Nepeta racemosa ‘Walker’s Low’, Leucanthemum Real Snowball Shasta Daisy and Persicaria amplexicaulis ‘Rosea’. Deadheading spent flowers can encourage a light second flush, and plants benefit from being divided every few years to maintain vigour and a tidy habit.
Supplied in approx. 1 litre containers.
