Carex comans ‘Amazon Mist’ is a graceful variety prized for its finely textured foliage in soft silver-green and creamy-white tones. Forming a dense, fountain-like mound, its slender leaves create a  flowing effect that brings movement to the garden. The pale variegated foliage catches the light beautifully and provides a stark contrast to flowering perennials, shrubs, and darker-leaved plants.
Ideal for borders, gravel gardens, coastal planting and contemporary landscaping schemes, ‘Amazon Mist’ offers a soft, naturalistic appearance that complements a wide range of garden styles. Plant in full sun or partial shade in moist but well-drained soil. Once established, it is relatively drought-tolerant, though occasional watering during prolonged dry spells will help maintain its fresh appearance. Little routine maintenance is required; simply comb through or trim away any damaged foliage in late winter or early spring before new growth emerges. Apply a light feed in spring if grown in containers.
