Camellia ‘Mary Williams’, a classic evergreen shrub admired for its elegant, semi-double blooms in rich rose-pink, highlighted by its golden stamens at the centre. Flowering in late winter to early spring, the rounded, silky petals stand out beautifully against the glossy, dark green foliage, providing much-needed colour and structure in the garden at a quieter time of year.
This camellia thrives in a sheltered position with full or partial shade, making it ideal for woodland-style borders, shrub beds, or large containers. It combines particularly well with companions such as Pieris japonica ‘Forest Flame’ and Skimmia japonica ‘Rubella’. Low-maintenance by nature, Camellia ‘Mary Williams’ requires little pruning beyond removing any dead or crossing branches after flowering, ensuring a healthy shape and reliable performance year after year.
