Bergenia Cordifolia Jelle

Bergenia cordifolia ‘Jelle’ is a robust, evergreen perennial valued for its glossy, heart-shaped leaves and early-spring flowers. Its dainty white blooms are splashed with blush-pink tones, which bring colour to the garden when little else is in flower. Through the autumn and winter, Jelle’s foliage comes to the forefront, deepening to rich bronze and red tones.
Thriving in partial shade or full sun with reliably moist, well-drained soil, ‘Jelle’ is an easy, low-maintenance choice for borders, ground cover, or planting beneath shrubs and trees. Remove spent flower stems after blooming and tidy older leaves in spring to keep plants looking fresh. It pairs particularly well with Hosta ‘Halcyon’, Ajuga reptans ‘Catlin’s Giant’ and Doronicum ‘Little Leo’, where its bold foliage provides strong contrast to finer textures and extends seasonal interest throughout the year.
