Berberis buxifolia ‘Nana’ is a compact, evergreen shrub known for its neat, rounded form and year-round garden appeal. This dwarf barberry features glossy dark green leaves with tiny spines, creating a dense, bushy habit perfect for low hedging, edging, or rock gardens. In spring, it produces cheerful orange-yellow flowers that contrast beautifully with the foliage, followed by small, blue-black berries in autumn that are loved by birds.
Hardy and low-maintenance, this shrub thrives in well-drained soil and full sun to partial shade. It’s tolerant of coastal and other exposed conditions. Light pruning after flowering will maintain its tidy shape.
