Anemone Hupehensis Splendens – Windflower

Anemone hupehensis ‘Splendens’ is a graceful, late-flowering perennial prized for its rose-pink blooms that dance above the foliage from late summer into autumn. Each flower features broad, silky petals surrounding a bright golden centre, creating a striking contrast that brings fresh colour to the garden just as many other plants begin to fade. Held on tall, slender stems, the blooms sway gently in the breeze, earning their name, ‘Windflower’, and adding lightness and movement to borders.
Easy-going and reliable, Anemone ‘Splendens’ thrives in sun or partial shade in moist but well-drained soil, gradually forming generous clumps over time with very little maintenance required. It pairs beautifully with ornamental grasses and Japanese Anemones in softer shades, all of which complement its colour and extend seasonal interest. Hardy and long-lived, this is an excellent choice for naturalistic planting schemes, cottage gardens, or mixed borders where late-season elegance is essential.
