Abelia Grandiflora ‘Sunshine Daydream’

This wonderful semi-evergreen shrub will give you an amazing variety of colours all year round with stunning foliage and flowers. ‘Sunshine Daydream’ boasts attractive leaves with the new variegated foliage flushed with beautiful shades of red and orange in spring. As the growing season continues they mature to a beautiful green edged with bright yellow-cream margins and as the temperature drops in autumn the foliage takes on amazing hues of red before dropping. The tubular flowers emerge a splendid white with a pink flush and remain all throughout summer, contrasting delicately against the dark pink sepals which will stay even after the flowers end. This Abelia has an upright compact habit and a maximum height and spread of 1-1.5 metres. We would recommend planting at the front of a mixed border giving your beds amazing spring and autumn foliage, but it would work equally well as a specimen plant in a container scheme. 
 
‘Sunshine Daydream’ does best in full sun but can tolerate partial shade. A versatile shrub it can establish in any soil pH or structure as long as it is moist but well-drained. Make sure to shelter it from cold winds.
